Frida Freedom Recovering from Minor Stroke
Frida Freedom, one of the original Union founders, is resting quietly in the New York City Hospital following a fainting episode at the dedication of the Alex Nova Memorial Library. A hospital spokesman says that Frida is expected to make a full recovery at the completion of physical therapy. Her role as head of Marketing and Promotions and public face of The Union of Superhumans remains unchanged.
Server Outage Interrupts The Union's Web Presence
Visitors to The 1800gounion.com website will notice incorrectly dated news items. Due to a broken power coupling at the Atom Comics HQ, the servers containing The Union of Superhuman's web presence were temporarily offline for much of last week. Technicians from Sekula Electronics diagnosed and repaired the problematic power linkages and installed a new backup system better suited to today's networked computers.
Ultra Magnus Opens Ceremonies Celebrating The Union's 60th Anniversary
Madison Square Garden. Ultra Magnus greeted a gathering of Union members, international dignitaries, and entertainment stars on Friday Night as The Union kicked off a week of celebrations on the eve of their 60th anniversary. Magnus walked the audience through 60 years of history, adventures, and remembrances of fallen members using a new immersive 3D slideshow and reenactment projector developed in partnership with Slinger Toys.
Joint Development Partnership Signed Between Sekula Defense and The Union
Alex Nova and Jasper Sekula posed for photos today after a short signing ceremony cementing the establishment of a feasibility research study to determine whether a variant of Armorgel, The Union's signature body armor, can be licensed out for non-military uses.
Thomas & Thomas Win Injunction and Appeal in Super Recruitment Case
The Kentucky Appellate Court granted a new hearing to the parents to the child dubbed STRONGBOY X by the media. "Clearly this is a human rights and citizenship issue. STRONGBOY X , as a minor, is still under the guardianship of his parents, and no organization can usurp that relationship either legally or ethically regardless of past practices," said Lawyer Jarred Thomas.
Rewards Program Recognizes 3 Schools in 2009
The Union is proud to recognize the efforts of the Thomas Jefferson Middle School of Philadelphia, Patrick Henry High School of Baltimore, and Greater New Bedford Vocational High School of New Bedford, for their help in securing the recruitment of no less than five Supers over the 2009 school year.
