The Union Acquires 30 Square Miles of Nevada Property
Jim Jaguar held a press conference today among the desert scrub and single highway road sign marking the border to Plainstown, Nevada where he announced plans to build a state of the art rest and relaxation resort for all Union members. "We've earned it," he said before throwing a ceremonial shovelful of sand over his shoulder. "With this relaxation space our Union members can unwind and regroup without masks in a space designed to cater to their specialized needs and wants. It's about time." The small crowd of costumed Union members and members of the Governor's staff, clapped as the ceremony continued.
The United States Congress unanimously ratified the transfer of land during their summer session.
A team for the US Geological Survey will help Union Members survey the new reservation holdings and study the old network of tin, silver, and iron mines dotting the property.
"Plainstown is not unknown to Union history," Jaguar continued, "but back in the really old days, me and Alex Nova, Patriot Paul Revere, Frida Freedom, and The Capacitor trained on these very grounds when it was still the property of the United States Army and used as a war surplus boneyard."
The town itself was abandoned at the end of the 1960s following a five year drought and when the last of the World War 2 era hardware was carted off for scrap. The Union made claim to these grounds last year as part of their due reservation rights under the Charter, signed into law in 1957 giving Superhumans sovereignty within the borders of the United States. "This land is like a homecoming for me, but for them I hope it will be thought of as a place of great joy and rejuvenation."
